Gradualism
The Hegel’ dialectic and the gospel according Hollywood
[on
family]
- Part three -
15/7/2004
“Nadir, you do not understand. Progress is
inevitable, whether you like it or not. The Malagasy culture will
soon change. It will be metamorphosed in something different from
what we know today, and this will be done by our modern civilisation,
of course, under the influence of Christianity.”
A friend of mine, a young Jesuit scholastic,
told me this one day [in 1970?] in Madagascar along the road, 16 km
walk, in our way back home. We were discussing about the problems
with the Malagasy culture I was having in my work as catecheta, and
religion teacher. He continued:
“History, according the Hegel’s dialectic -
thesis, antithesis and synthesis - is viewed and subdivided in three
main phases:
(1)
The primal phase of culture, that is
thesis;
(2)
Its disappearance (or destruction), i.e.
antithesis;
(3)
Its transformation [or merged] by another culture, i.e.
synthesis…”
There and then, I did not quite grasp the
meaning of his words. I had a feeling, though, that there was
some truth in them. But we will come back to that again, later.
***********
After the demise of the Catholic Church’s
mandate [mission], as the Lord Jesus Christ commanded her to, namely
to evangelise the whole world and look after her flock, the devil
took over, and it is now working around the clock in order to
replace truth with half-truths and deceit.
The Lord Jesus
said to Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”
He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to
him, “Feed my lambs.” He then said to him a second time, “Simon, Son
of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord you know that I
love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third
time, “Simon, son of John do you love me?” Peter distressed that he
had said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and said to him,
“Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to
him, “Feed my sheep.” [John 21: 15-17]
For many centuries the Catholic Church did just
that, i.e. feeding and caring for her faithfuls - the lambs and
sheep alike without distinction of sex, race, or social status.
However, in the last XX century, the Catholic Church lost hold on
her flock and on top of that a new heretical doctrine, under the
name of Modernism, had
been infiltrated by the ‘change agents’ [read Communists] and social
engineers [“periti” or theologians],
gradually, first among the ranks of some cardinals and
bishops and then down to the ordinary believers.
Since the late 1960s, after the closure of
Vatican II [1962-65] Modernism within of the Catholic Church has
been mutely sanctioned by most of the hierarchy, and the pope, John
Paul II included. Although to the common Catholic people, Modernism
is just a name, it has some undertone with Secularism, Humanism,
Socialism, Liberalism and Democracy. In other words, it is a
crypt-Communist philosophy in disguise, [or alias].
Modernism is the twenty-century philosophy in
which its proponents believe that human kind is at the centre of
creation [anthropocentrism] and not the Lord Jesus Christ
[Christ-centric]. Also Modernism is a word, which might easily be
associated, in one way or other, with the New Age movement,
Darwinism, Materialism, and other devilish ideologies.
Modernism has been condemned by pope Pius X in
his decree, Lamentabili (September 8, 1907, and his encyclical,
Pascendi Dominici Gregis (September 8, 1907).
“The smock of
Satan entered the Catholic Church.”
Now I am not going to make a list of sins or
evil things, which are so apparent in the Catholic Church today. I
have written enough on this subject to the point of repeating
myself. What I am pointing out here is where, I believe, most of
Catholics and Christians miss it out completely, because blinded by
Modernism. Means to spread this philosophy are few but powerful
indeed. They are, radio and television, the press-media and in
particular through the state school education system.
However, the place I chosen to look at and
direct my focus this time is the world of entertainment – Hollywood,
the greatest motion picture in the world.
The gospel
according Hollywood
This is the title of my writing. What I mean by
‘the gospel according Hollywood’ is that Hollywood is
brainwashing people with propaganda and venom. It started from a
‘benevolent’ entertaining motion machine for the masses to what is
today, namely the violent, pornographic and diabolic motion pictures
business, which leads astray millions of souls.
Today Hollywood is the enemy of Christianity.
If anybody thinks I am exaggerating, just ask Mel Gibson, he will
tell you what happened to his first copy of his movie, “The
Passion”. Hollywood did not like a bit having showed “The Passion”
in their set. Of course not, why would they? For the devil was not
pleasing either.
Therefore, the devil, [Hollywood] is now doing
what the Catholic Church stopped doing long time ago, that is
“evangelising” the world. But, of course, the devil is spreading its
‘sweet/sour’ messages with a ‘tailor-made gospel’, and by modern
means, i.e. the medium of motion pictures, videos, films on TV,
computer games, and so on. Hence, truth has been replaced by
“virtual reality, and reality by sensationalism.
It is obvious, the people in the films
industry, the like as Walt Disney, Minerva films, Warner Bros, Gold
Mayer, Fox, Columbia, and few others, are in this business because
it is lucrative. Yet, the making money is not their primary concern.
Their first concern and foremost is to instil on you, on me, a new
gospel, that is the gospel according Satan, the enemy of God and of
human kind. In other words, this gospel is
Modernism, but disguised
under other fancy names, such as women liberation, gays rights,
multiculturalism, democracy, pro-choice, self-esteem, self-
liberation, mind-power, awareness, spirituality, life & time
quality, child rights, etc.
Praxis
As lay missionary, catecheta, and bible
teacher, I know by experience that plainly preaching the Gospel to
people it is very limited in what you can achieve, and often, it
seems a waste of time and energy, if the right
methodology is not applied
adequately. What I mean by that is that most of the time the
Gospel’s message is not easily grasped by ordinary people, unless,
of course, it is conveyed to them in a properly way and according
their understanding and within the parameter of their own culture.
The message has to be pertinent to them, to their lives, as Jesus
did in the gospel with the use of parables. Hence it is good to make
the use of real stories, or allegories, to conveying the message to
people, providing that the religion teacher avoids,
whenever is possible, the use of abstract concepts
[as salvation, freedom, etc] outside its proper context. The use of
pictures and motion pictures is the best for the task, as Saint
Augustine said: “A picture
speaks louder than thousand words”.
Hollywood, the world-masters of the motion
pictures
Hollywood, the social engineers, uses
professional writers, scriptwriters, to write stories, whether good
or bad, which once on the screen, millions of viewers around the
world will be watching them.
In Hollywood, the people who run the show are
the disciples of Hegel and Kant, and they are well versed in the
dialectic – thesis, antithesis and
synthesis.
They do what
they preach.
We cannot deny that many things went wrong in
our society. One of most obvious is the dysfunctional family;
marriages break up, divorces, abortion, drugs addiction,
delinquency, etc.
Now, if the social engineers [Hollywood] have
in mind to undermine say the family, the role of male or whatever it
is; they have made up a story, from a scriptwriter, or taken from a
best seller-book that fit the theme chosen and screened.
Thus the
story, based on this dialectic, would be a popular one, i.e. it has
to have some public appeal in order to draw many viewers. An
example would be the relationship between man and woman, or say a
family. It goes like this.
Narrative
[thesis]
1- We see here a
married couple with five children living in a big city. The man is
the breadwinner. He works in a car factory; he hardly spends much
time with his family, for when he finished his working day he spend
it in a pub drinking with his mates. On the other hand, his wife is
always at home looking after the five children; cooking for them;
doing the washing, ironing, cleaning the house, doing the shopping
and so on. She has never much time for herself. She looks miserable,
tired and depressed. The children, as all children do, for the
parents, are more trouble than joy. When at age, they go to school.
They often fight to each other and with the other kids. They get
sick, and spend time in bed. Then they call the doctor and it costs
money, beside of all the worries and the bills unpaid. Then and
then…not a nice picture, is it?
The hidden message, seen as a side issue
– (Antithesis)
2- From a
woman’s point the view, motherhood is not worth it; too many worries
and not much time for yourself; nor the role of wife, as it as been
illustrated in books and novels, is too enjoyable. Therefore, for a
woman, family life means hard work and marriage is an institutional
slavery. It must go.
Solution (Synthesis)
3- Then the
solution for the modern woman is to have a carrier first, for it is
much more enjoyable than to have a family of her own. Sex - then for
sex, you go with whom you like and please yourself as your feelings
dictated you. “Screw” the man! Who needs him?
That is the picture we are getting from the
screen. That is what I call the gospel according Hollywood.
Do I need to say more and on the same line, in
order to make my point; except maybe to add that Modernism is the
modern evil concept, but dressed up always in new fashionable
clothes? About clothing, who on earth are the better knowledgeable
than the people (the social engineers) who run Hollywood? They
create fashion and new ideas, for they are the masters of the
century. As I said, they are the followers of Hegel and Kant, and
they use the dialectic – thesis, antithesis and synthesis.
Dialectics in three parts – from another window
[or point of view]
(1) Thesis: - creation of a problem; (2)
antithesis: - demolition of the old concepts and redefinition of new
ones; (3) synthesis: - the finding of solution among [the ruins] the
thesis and antithesis.
(1) Again, take the family as social
institution, which is attacked by the feminists from right and left.
For who don’t know what Feminism is based on, then I say that it is
Communism [see
savethemales.ca - American
Communism and the Making of Women's Liberation http://www.savethemales.ca/000180.html;
and
savethemales.ca - Gloria Steinem How the CIA Used Feminism to
Destabilize Society, http://www.savethemales.ca/180302.html]
Then it goes without saying that the feminists
are anti-family. “Because family is an atavistic social construct
created by the patriarchal society; therefore, it has to go.” They
say.
Additional examples of:
Thesis, antithesis and synthesis [on the
screen]
Thesis -
past situation
If in the agenda is
that the white race has to go [read disappear],
Hollywood, under the
banner of multiculturalism [another name for a melting pot], first
will try to undermine it, in favouring of another, say the black
race. Then they will show you, always on the screen, how racist the
whites were in the past, and how much still they are today. The
story on film would be displayed in a way that it showed in details
how bad the “Negroes” were treated by the white people. It would
tell you about slavery, forced labour and of the lynching of blacks
by white thugs; and many other evil things happened to the
African/American Negroes [remember the book, “Roots” from which a
film was made?]
Antithesis - present situation
Then the situation
change completely and it takes an opposite direction. Now the
Negroes are called blacks, for it is an offence and discriminatory
to call them with that name. Most of the stories in a movie theatre
today, quite often, show black people in prominent positions, such
as layers, judges, head of government, chief of police, etc. You
will notice, not rarely, tension between the two races (the whites
and the blacks protagonists in the movie), for their relationship is
never at their best, and it is getting even worse along the line of
the story.
Synthesis - future situation
Modernism is the philosophy of the present time.
Hollywood practices what it preaches, namely Modernism in disguise
under crypt-Communist ideologies, such as Humanism, Feminism,
Secularism, Democracy and so on. They, the social engineers, are the
followers of Hegel and Kant dialectic - thesis, antithesis and
synthesis doctrine, in other words and within the parameter of
history and space/time, is view as past, present and future, or from
another mirror, as action, reaction and problem & solution.
