Redemption

27/12/2004

  Preface

Is there not a strong correlation between money and faith? In realistic terms, no modern society can survive today without the ‘medium of exchange’ that we call ‘money’, unless of course we were to go back to the ancient barter system, where communally accepted goods were exchanged. But today money has become as necessary as food and water.

the saying goes, meaning that when you pay little, you get little; when you pay more, you get more in both quantity and quality. However, it also true that “unsound money” buys poorly, and “sound money” [purchase power[1]] buys richer.

Faith, belief and religion still play a part in people’s lives. It seems that mankind cannot live without faith, whatever form it takes. Historically, western society went from believing in many gods [polytheism/paganism] to believing in one God [monotheism].

With the coming of Christianity, our society took a turn for the better, and the result is about 2000 years of progress and civilization. Faith has been the leaven that made this possible. However, as with money, faith has fallen from its height and purity to a low level today. It is said that ‘Christianity was founded on the blood of Christian martyrs’. Then faith was at its purest level, as during the Roman Empire (30 BC to AC 14), a gold coin,[2] was made of almost 100% pure gold.

Today Christianity - the faith in one God, the Father of Jesus Christ - has become “old hat”. Faith loses its strength when God [of the both Old and the New Covenant] is not the object. Likewise money becomes worthless when 1) the government, its guarantor, consists of a band of corrupted politicians, 2) it is not backed or redeemed by precious metals, only by a misplaced ‘trust’ and ‘hope’ that “the market will regulate itself”[3].

Thus with worthless money and a loss of faith, where will redemption come from? The following might give an answer.

  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Part one
History tells us that integrity is the solid rock on which traditional values for any society are based. It is the cornerstone for ethics and moral values without which civilization has no hope of surviving for very long. With integrity there is no middle way for, like the atom, once split, it ceases to exist. Since day one, mankind has been notorious for following the path that leads away from integrity.
Nowadays, we scoff at anyone who talks about sin because we don’t believe in it any more. “That is for bigots”, we say. Yet sin is, for the believer, the cause of the lack of integrity in mankind.
We are living a life full of contradiction and deceit, but we pretend that everything is all right. We know we are far from integrity, but we use popular sayings to cover ourselves, like “Nobody’s perfect”.  Our “shortcomings” come to be considered as “normal” behaviour, for we say, “everybody does it”, or “we all are in the same boat”, and so forth.
If we consider that everything is fine, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary, then to talk about redemption is meaningless. Redemption from what?
In the Biblical context, the word redemption means to buy back. From his original state of grace, mankind fell through sin, and through Jesus Christ, has access to God, the Father of all.
The word redemption[4], now has a pecuniary connotation as when real assets, such as precious metals, back paper moneys.
Today paper money is worthless per se, apart from the ‘guarantor’ - the government, which issues it - for use as a ‘legal tender’ [5].
This started with President Nixon’s action, in 1973, in declaring the US dollar as the world currency, although no longer backed by the gold standard for redemption, as in previous years. From then on the US dollar reigned supreme. Before that time, world currencies were backed, or redeemed, by precious metals like gold or silver. That is no longer the case today, because money, whatever the denomination, is fiat money, that is, it is not backed or redeemed, and therefore based on debt, because in modern America debt is money [G. Edward Griffin, The Creature from Jekyll Island”, page 206].
Money owing
If you owe money and you don’t have any, then you are in trouble. For example, if you borrow $100 at say 5% interest, when the loan is due to be repaid, how do you expect to repay $100 + $5 interest? The answer is you can’t, except by going in debt for $5 again in order to make the payment.
That is what our money system is based on – debt - with no redemption in sight.
Nowadays, the ‘medium of exchange for goods and services’ that we call ‘legal tender’ represents everything we value in our debt-driven society. The corporate-controlled mass media, religious institutions, the school system, and of course, the banking system, both promote and increment this monetary system. As I said above, our money is fiat money, i.e. unredeemed paper money, which is created out of nothing[6], by a stroke of a pen or keyboard to make digits in a ledger.
Currencies and faith
Faith is to a believer what money is to a banker. No faith - no belief! No money - no business! Just as our current money is worthless, because based on debt and without redemption, our beliefs, trust, religion has been tainted by the same source – as from a muddied well.
Part two
The Church[7] and the World
With the loss of faith, the Vatican looks for redemption not in Our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of life[8], but in the United Nations. As in Solomon’s time, they make alliances in the guise of dialogue, tolerance, appeasement, ecumenism or whatever is useful.
Solomon made a marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt; he took Pharaoh's daughter and brought her into the city of David, until he had finished building his own house and the house of the LORD and the wall around Jerusalem.” [1 Kings 3:1]
“……the LORD had said to the Israelites, "You shall not enter into marriage with them (the nations), neither shall they with you; for they will surely incline your heart to follow their gods"; Solomon clung to these in love. [1 Kings 11:2]
“Among his wives were seven hundred princesses and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart. For when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not true to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David. For Solomon followed Astarte the goddess of the Sidonians, and Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and did not completely follow the LORD, as his father David had done. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain east of Jerusalem.  He did the same for all his foreign wives, who offered incense and sacrificed to their gods.” [1 Kings 11:3-8]
By 2002 the United Nations[9] had 191 Member States. A bit less than Solomon’s seven hundred princesses and three hundred concubines, but close enough for the Catholic Church [read Vatican] to prostitute herself.
Pope Highlights “Fundamental Role” of U.N. in aftermath of Iraq War’ Letter of Cardinal Angelo Sodano to U.N. Secretary-General - Vatican City, June 20, 2003 (Zenit.org) In the wake of the Iraq war, the Holy See confirms the “fundamental role” of the United Nations in guaranteeing respect for international law.
... According to Cardinal Sodano, this agreement, which followed the division at the heart of the international community (sic) caused by the war, “can be considered the beginning of a reconfirmation of the validity of the mission of the United Nations Organization as stipulated be the charter of 1945.
After revealing that he was writing the letter because John Paul II asked him to emphasize  “the fundamental role of the United Nations Organization at the present time,” Cardinal Sodano recalls the numerous papal pronouncements calling for “An international and independent [sic] Authority capable of serving not only as a mediator in potential conflicts but also as a guide for all humanity [sic], leading the human family in peace [sic] towards the rule of law.” http://zenit.org/english/visualizza.phtml?sid=37549;
155 Catholics Visit Rome With List of Reforms- May 23 2001
Vatican City [Associated Press] – As cardinals discussed the direction of the Roman Catholic Church in the coming years, a group of Catholics seeking reforms showed up in Rome on Wednesday with a list of demands for the Vatican to loosen the grip on the Church.
According to the Vatican account, the 155 cardinals meeting behind closed doors have made only “rare mentions” of the word  collegiality” [see note 10] a code word for more democracy in the church. http://pub18.ezboard.com/fbalkansfrm10.shwPrevMessage?topicID=48.topic
The Vatican And Communist Alliance Under the Guise Of Appeasement[10]
For many years the Catholic Church spoke strongly against the evil philosophy of Communism, which was considered intrinsically evil by Pope Pius XII, and other Popes before him. However since 1962, there is a policy in the Vatican never to mention   Communism. Why?
Here are some excerpts, which may throw light on the matter:
“THE VATICAN-MOSCOW TREATY”
Prior to the Second Vatican Council, secret negotiations between the Holy See and the Kremlin took place at Metz, France, in 1962. Cardinal Tisserant, Pope John XXIII's own representative and a member of the Vatican Curia, met with Archbishop Nikodim, the Kremlin spokesman, who at the time was head of the department of the external relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, which has become infiltrated and is now used as an instrument of the Communist Party.” [See: The Vatican-Moscow Treaty - http://www.tldm.org/news/Treaty.htm]
“My child, I must ask that you write, that you all write, to Cardinal Casaroli, who is influencing the Holy Father to not listen to this message. His influence shall bring great penance to his soul if he does not come from his course of appeasement, which shall lead to enslavement for many. My child and My children, I do not have to go into a long discourse to tell you of the evils of communism. The world, and its condition, speaks for itself." (Our Lady, June 18, 1987)  http://www.tldm.org/news/treaty.htm
“Cardinal Sodano continues to uphold the infamous Vatican-Moscow Treaty, the "course of appeasement", and seeks to silence all those who support and encourage the Pope to use God's weapon against worldwide communism: the consecration of Russia by the Pope and all the bishops of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary”.
This existence of the Vatican-Moscow Treaty explains a great deal. It explains why the petition of more than 200 bishops from 46 countries to discuss communism during Vatican II was blocked. It also explains why the petition of the Spanish and Portuguese bishops to consecrate Russia at the Council was also refused. Satan would enter the highest realms of the hierarchy  [http://www.tldm.org/news3/highest_realms.htm]
Communism is a wolf in sheep’s clothing
Communism is essentially a deceitful system of international control. It was not suppressed during the McCarthy era. Rather it morphed into the New Left, Counter Culture, Civil Rights, Anti-War and Woman’s Liberation Movements, and later into a plethora of elite-sponsored NGO’s and media, Democratic and Republican party factions, Liberal, Zionist, Labor, and Gay Rights groups. Like the CPUSA itself, these groups are controlled from the top so their memberships are unaware of being used.
Cardinal Rampolla – Freemasonry & Papacy
Cardinal Sarto, later Pope St. Pius X, saw clearly the activities of the Masons, and throughout his Pontificate labored unceasingly to brace and prepare the Church against their onslaught - especially as it has come in the form of the heresy of Modernism. Pope St. Pius' election is a revelation in itself, because Pope Leo XIII's Secretary of State, Cardinal Rampolla, was expected to succeed Leo. However, using an obscure Imperial privilege not exercised in 400 years, Emperor Franz Josef of Austria-Hungary had the Cardinal Primate of Poland submit a veto in his name during the Conclave itself, thus obstructing Rampolla's election. […] The votes began to go to Cardinal Sarto instead, who subsequently was elected as Pius X. Though not publicly understood at the time, this astounding gesture of the Emperor, and that he was privy to confidential information, later became clear: For upon the providentially unexpected death of Rampolla, secret Freemasonic papers and documents were found among the Cardinal's personal effects! They revealed beyond a doubt that he had been a Mason attached to a particularly occult sect called the OTO for several years, even while Secretary of State to Leo XIII. A Brief View of Church & Money and the Usury problem
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains." [1 Tim 6:10]
In this last century, the Catholic Church has hardly spoken against usury. Why?
Vested Interest
The Lateran Treaty, a concordat between the Kingdom of Italy and the Holy See signed in 1929, recognized as fully sovereign and independent, a new papal state called Vatican City. Compensation was paid for the loss of papal real estate.
Italy, on the exchange of ratifications of the Treaty, shall pay to the Holy See the sum of Italian lire 750,000,000 (seven hundred and fifty millions) and at the same time consign Italian 5 per cent bonds (with coupons, June 30) of the nominal value of Italian lire 1,000,000”. [Text of the Lateran Treaty of 1929 http://www.aloha.net/~mikesch/treaty.htm]
Excerpts from New brief monetary history - on USURY”: http://www.monetary.org/usurytalk
Action Against Usurers
Pope Leo the Great (440-461) laid the cornerstone for later usury laws when he forbade clerics from taking usury and condemned laymen for it. In 850 the Synod of Paris excommunicated all usurers. The 2nd Lateran Council  (1139) declared that unrepentant usurers were condemned by both the Old and New Testaments. Pope Urban III (1185-87) cited Christ’s words "lend freely, hoping nothing thereby" (Luke 6:35).
“The Church’s Condemnation Of Usury:
Observation of its bad effects-
Pope Innocent IV (1250-1261) noted that if usury were permitted rich people would prefer to put their money in a usurious loan rather than invest in agriculture. Only the poor would do the farming and they didn’t have the animals and tools to do it. Famine would result. Burudian (d.1358), a professor at the University of Paris wrote that: "Usury is evil …because the usurer seeks avariciously what has no finite limits". This places its results outside of nature - often outside of the possible. St. Bernardine of Siena (1380-1444) observed that usury concentrates the money of the community into the hands of the few.”
Today the Catholic Church is silent regarding usury. In the Catechism of the Catholic Church there are seven references to money in five paragraphs (2113, 2121, 2172, 2424, 2536) yet nothing on usury. Such silence on the matter speaks loudly indeed.
Conclusion
"The borrower is servant to the lender."
[Proverb 32:7]
The Lord’s Prayer
This “landscape” is not pretty and it gets worse as we go down the slippery slope and the worldly path of Talmudists and Mammonites in the Catholic Church. The further the Church moves from her Gospel message, the more she becomes entangled in world affairs to the point of no return, i.e. of no redemption. Our worldly Church is too busy courting the United Nations, the Mammonites and their surrogates, and “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come…” (Mat. 6:9-10), has become to her a New Age mantra with no meaning.
“Because of the countless debaucheries of the prostitute, gracefully alluring, mistress of sorcery, who enslaves nations through her debaucheries, and peoples through her sorcery, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts, and will lift up your skirts over your face; and I will let nations look on your nakedness and kingdoms on your shame.  I will throw filth at you and treat you with contempt, and make you a spectacle.” [Nahum 3:4-6]
And again: “Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.  For you say, 'I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing.' You do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.” [Rev 3:13-17]
Perhaps the Church has forgotten the words of her Lord’s Prayer, forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors”. [That means, “free us from the burden of sins, debts, and slavery[11]…”]
For Jesus taught his disciples how to pray:
"When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.  [Matthew 6: 7-13]
Hope again
Let as hope that the day will come, when the recalcitrant Church will encounter her Lord and God, as Saul did in Acts 26:15, and say:
Who are you, Lord?' The Lord answered, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.
And He will say to her: I will rescue you from your people and from the Gentiles--to whom I am sending you to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' [Acts 26:17-18]
Amen
