Primarily, I would like to dedicate this website to my affectionate and best friend Miriam.

- Religion -

The main meaning of the word religion is, “action that one is bound to do (make a ~of doing). Hence~Less (-join-) a. [ME, f. AF religium, OF –ion, or L religio]” From The Concise Oxford Dictionary.

The sentence, “Action that one is bound to do”, suggests some sort of work, duty, or responsibility, that one is apt to make a ~ of doing, in order to fulfil a task, a mandate, or mission in one’s life. Therefore, if religion is a sort of a bounding agency for anyone who adheres to it, then a religious person is its agent and executioner.

In other words, I might say that religion is to a human being what a mother is to her child. What both they have in common is a bond, which makes them inter-independent, as well as keeps them together.

Since the beginning human beings had this religious bond, which tied them up, or connected them to a divinity [or deities], to the ether world [or worlds], to the Ancestors etc. Therefore, it seems to me that religion was born since the outset of mankind on earth. Also we know that before Christianity appeared on this planet, already several types of religion were well established.

Some of these religions, such as Mystery Religion, Zoroastrian, Mithraism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Pantheism, Animism, and so forth were the domain of the so-called “pagan world”, where many spirits “polluted” the ancient globe.

Today, after the demise of about 2000 years of Christianity, a new religious phenomenon appears, that of the New Age movement. Actually, if we study closely the New Age movement, there is nothing new there, for it is the “old religion”, arising from the ashes, and recycled as new to replace Christianity. We might as well call this a sort of the ancient pagan revival.

For those who are interested in this matter, see chart below (To see it click here). This chart was taken from the book: “She Shall Crush Thy Head”, by Stephen Mahowald, [page, 125].
