Why am I a believer?

I do not remember ever being asked why I am a
believer in Jesus Christ. I thought recently that this is a
legitimate question to ask. Also I think that no one asked me such a
question, because people today take for granted that everybody has
some sort of belief, whether a religious belief or a philosophical
opinion.
But I am diverting from my original point. So
why am I a believer?
I am a believer because one day I was touched
by God. Since then I learned that God is the first and ultimate
reality through Whom life not only makes real sense, but also is
given to everyone in order to know Him and so become a better and
loving person.
“Here we go again – another fundamentalist
nutcase!” I anticipate that someone might say. Never mind, the fact
is what I say is true.
“You have been brainwashed, that is why you are
a believer,” someone else might say. I accept that too, even though
that does not apply to me either.
It is true that I was baptized Catholic as a
baby. My family though was not practicing Catholic. My maternal
grandfather hated the Church and he married my grandmother in the
registry office, not in the Church. My father and mother married in
the Church, but that was all. They never put a foot in the Church,
except for social occasions such as weddings or funerals.
My upbringing has been almost totally secular,
thus you can hardly say that I had been brainwashed in Catholicism.
I was 25 years old when I left Italy for Africa. It was in Rhodesia
where I discovered that life was not just working for a living,
having fun or having a family. ‘I was touched by God’, I just said.
Yes, that is true. That was in 1966. Since then I never stopped
asking questions. I studied and read hundreds of books on religion,
psychology, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, languages [I speak
four: Italian, French, Malagasy, English], graphology, numerology,
astrology, kabala, cosmology, economics, politics, literature,
medicine [including alternative medicine], history and Bible.
That is a long list! Quo bono? Does this put
me in a better light or qualify me for what I am not? Hardly. Again,
does that mean that I have all the answers? Far from it, for as the
saying goes, ‘When you think you know
everything; you do not know how little you know,” and,
“You might think you know, but you don’t know how to know things.”
To come to the point, many people today [the
very one who accuse Christians of being brainwashed by religion, in
particular in Catholicism] have been indoctrinated into believing
that the
theory of evolution is
a fact, thus embracing the cosmos as their god in opposition to the
God of the Christians.
Why is that? The reasons could be summarized as
two main ones:
1)
the denial of original sin [if not the concept of evil
altogether, the existence of Satan, the enemy of mankind], therefore
the denial of the need for redemption and for a savior;
2)
rejection of any responsibility, whether collective or
personal, therefore morals and ethics do not come into the
equation.
They say, “Christianity has been the cause of
conflicts, wars, witch hunts, genocides”, or else they say, “We are
part of the cosmos, we are one with it, and we should try to do our
best to be loving and caring to one another, and we should, and we
should…” ad infinitum.
It comes to mind what the Raelians say in this

to replace the Judeo Christian taboos and prejudices that killed and
tortured so many peoples.
Again,
on the official Raelian webpage entitled
RAEL SUPPORTS THE AUCTIONING OF TOP MODELS’ EGGS OVER THE INTERNET
Rael states
"At the dawn of the 3rd millennium, it is time to let the
golden age set in, by sweeping away
the old taboos from the Judeo-Christian civilisation."
[The author comments:]
‘Golden Age is a Masonic buzzword for the New World Order. 33rd
Degree Freemason and founder of the Masonic cult called Jehovah's
Witnesses, Charles Taze Russell frequently talked about this New
Age--calling it a "Golden Age" to come. He preached a sermon on it
entitled "Must We Abandon Hope of a Golden Age." He even established
a paper called The Golden Age which is now called Awake.’

This is a
form of religion supplanting the previous one, Christianity.
Hence, ‘Christianity is bad, but cosmology, if
not neutral, is alright’, they say. It has become fashionable today
to judge history and past cultures through the spectacles of the 21st
century culture. It is like applying the modern Italian culture and
mores to a Chinaman of Confucius’ era.
Many people read history filtered through the
glasses of the ‘historical’ text books from which truth has been
‘purged’ and spurned by the planners of the NWO. Their new ‘bible’
now comes from the education system and the news media. No wonder
they reject everything that, for over 2000 years, has been held
sacred, such as tradition, ethics and sane Christian philosophy.
Their new religion is the New Age type: Cosmology, where there is
neither a personal God nor personal responsibility – everything is
in a big vacuum.
Evolution theory claims
that the human species originated from an ape; that everything is
evolving. Thermodynamics says just the opposite, for the universe is
in a state of entropy, i.e. loss of energy. The reality is that we
are not evolving but devolving and gradually losing information in
our DNA.
Moreover, according to evolution theory,
destruction and death have been there from the beginning of the
universe [if there has ever been a beginning, they say]. Therefore,
if death and destruction has always been, what is the purpose for
‘creation’ or its existence? No one has the answer, for
evolutionists have been sold the idea that we are “evolving” with
death and destruction … This is what it all is about – and future?
There is none.
When these believers in Darwinism read the Old
Testament, they are scandalized that Israel [I mean the historical
from Abraham] was chosen by Yahweh from among the other nations, for
no other reason than to become the leader of them and, in the
process, conflicts, wars and slaughters were the result.
‘But that is genocide!’ they say. That
might be true. So was Noah’s Flood a type of genocide. But why do we
have such tragedies? Genocides, whether commanded by Yahweh or not,
have been around in many cultures for thousands of years. The answer
[if you are a believer] is always the same: because of sin.
In reading these stories, what they don’t take
into account are other aspects, such as when Yahweh castigated
Israel many times over throughout its history for not obeying Him -
to the point that between 721 [Israel] and 538 [Judah], they ended
up in captivity in Babylon. That is where
Judaism originated.
Nowadays, we accept death and destruction, as
part of life on the base of evolution theory, but we cannot accepted
them from the Bible point of view, which says that death, murder,
polygamy, divorce, rape, et al. are the result of disobedience to
God and His Commandments, and not part of creation, for in the
beginning everything was good.

The fact is once we accept it, and believe in
the Bible we have to conform to it accordingly. That is maybe too
much to ask; but there is no other choice: take it or leave it. That
means, in rejecting the revelation from the Bible, something else
has to replace it, that is in most cases, cosmology, or for a better
word, New Age religion, which is nothing other than but the old
Gnosticism disguised as a new and modern belief.
As for me, if I have to follow ‘scientific’
facts, the best mathematical equation I have ever seen is: 1 cross +
3 nails = 4given.

For Christians:
- Many folks want to serve God, but only as
advisers.
- People are funny; they want the front of the
bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.
- Quit griping about your church; if it was
perfect, you couldn’t belong.
For all:
There were four good things, but they had
wicked daughters:
the first was Science, whose daughter was
Pride;
the second was Friendship, whose daughter
was Contempt;
the third was Greatness, whose daughter was
Envy;
the fourth and last was Truth whose daughter
was Hatred.
